Adobe Photoshop Lightroom Classes

Adobe Photoshop Lightroom is one of the best photo organisers in the business.

But aside from that, it's also a brilliant application for editing pictures.  Why do we need this over Photoshop Elements or Photoshop itself?  Simply put, this program is brilliant for sorting images.  Way better than Photoshop or Elements, or anything else for that matter.  It creates a database of your images and enables changes, copies, Collections (like Albums), special effects, and more, to be made in no time at all.
Because it runs off its own database it doesn't have to move, shift, or copy pixels, so processing is fast and completely non-destructive. Making it ideal for the serious creative photographer. I like to think that Lightroom is designed by photographers, for photographers.  And as you are a photographer yourself, you'll quickly come to appreciate that everything it does makes 100% sense...

Above:
This is an example of one of my previous tutorials - if you attend a class-base course, these are supplied as 'notes', all online classes are tutorial driven with videos such as this...

What Lightroom is:
- It's a great picture organiser, far better than anything else on the market
- It runs as a database so it's fast, and completely non-destructive
- It's an ideal application for the bulk editing of tens, hundreds, and even thousands of images in one hit
-  Lr has dozens of powerful editing tools that far outshine most everything else on the market
- Lr has a terrific range of pre-made, presets (recipes made to add special effects to a picture at the click of a mouse)
- Log into any of the dozens of Lightroom support sites to download more presets
- Design your own presets and post them online

What Lightroom isn't:

- Expensive
- A layer-based application (we use Elements/Photoshop for that)
- A powerful retouching tool (use Elements for that).
- Hard to use, if you have had even limited prior experience with Photoshop or Elements you'll find a lot of features in Lr [relatively] easy to pick up
I teach Adobe Lightroom classes through class-based courses and occasionally online (when the numbers are there) at the Centre for Continuing Education (CCE).
