DSLR Video Classes

Although some consider DSLR video as a natural extension of the still photography process, it still requires special handling if you want to produce professional-looking film clips. I teach both DSLR classes plus video editing classes through CCE at Sydney University.

Classes target beginners and intermediate photographers wanting to get more from their image making.

We look at how to stabilise the shooting process using tripods, monopods, and shooting rigs. The course covers:
- How to create a storyboard
- Scripting basics
- Shooting techniques
- Camera work
- Lens choice
- Exposure control

- Production issues
- Sound recording
- Direction and the all-important post-production.

Everything you need to know to start producing your own professional-looking videos. It's a great fun course involving a wide range of skills.
Here are a couple of great examples: 'Black Coffee', (shot and produced using a slider for the flyover effects), Our Africa, a travel video put together from clips shot in Afrcia in 2013, Kitchen Objects (a look at shooting easy to find objects found at home) and Vivid - a video made from stills and video clips shot during Sydney's Vivid light festival.
